Megapot 1.2 - First Use

Hey Everyone- just got a megapot 1.2 and am wondering if it's best practice to boil some water in it prior to first use. I also heard several people swapping the original washers for flat rubber washers. Any benefits to the flat rubber washers as opposed to the round rubber ones it ships with? Thanks!

Boil some water in it to see if your boil off rate is any different. You should give it a heavy cleaning as they have surface oils from storage.

If it doesn’t leak, don’t worry about changing washers.
