Hi, noob question from a nooob (am on my sixth batch :): measured preboil wort today for efficiency and I got a reading of 1040 which, with my grain bill came out as 25.2ppg. Not so nice :(

I took the reading when the sample was still warm... (about 40C I guess). Does that influence the calculation? I.e. Should I have waited until it cooled down?

Thanks anyone for answering that basic question for me!

Nice. Thank you.
So assuming it was about 40C with the correction my efficiency would have been about 28ppg. quite OK! :)
