So I've been wondering I have some rose hips and cherry wood around the house and was wondering how it would add flavor to the meads I make.

im making a rhodemel now with rose hips. right now after just going into secondary it is very "spicy" without the heat. I am hoping it mellow out but its not bad.

its a one gallon of "sweet mead" from the compleat mead maker with 1 oz of roze hips in secondary.

for 5 gal
15-18 pounds of honey
water to make 5 gal
lalvin d47 yeast starter
Og 1.120-1.135
fg 1.025 ( I used staggered nutrient additions and it ended up at 1.004 from 1.125)
