And me!

I am just beginning, extract brewer as most people begin (I imagine) and I'm planning my 3rd batch.
First batch is bottle conditioning, going to go into the fridge soon.
My second batch is waiting in kit form (a Kolsch) for me to finish the fermentation chamber (True GDM-12 that I picked up for short money, needs a recharge.)

My question, given the time between now and July 4th, is what else should I brew that will have more general appeal? My friends are generally lite beer drinkers, whereas I tend to the wit/hefe end of the spectrum.
(#1 is a Sam Summer clone, FWIW.)

My LHBS is Homebrew Emporium, FWIW. This may or may not be their kit selection, my work firewall blocks alcohol sites: https://beerbrew.com/product-category/beer-ingredients/extract-kits/

Honestly, I think that wits and hefes are lite beers. But that's a small distinction to make. I think a Kolsch might have been my first choice, but they can take a little while to lager. A Blonde Ale, like Biermuncher's Centennial Blonde is a good candidate.

Again, in the grand scheme of styles, these are all lighter in body, alcohol, flavor, etc. (Not to say that they are flavorless, just lighter.)

At this point I would recommend just picking a style you like and brewing that. You should have plenty of beer to handle your friends' needs. Maybe try a hoppy Pale Ale, or a lighter Belgian style. Maybe a fruit wheat beer since it's summer.

I know a lot of people are not into dark or heavy beers in the summer, but a flavorful malty beer can be nice in the evening around a fire, even IPAs or some stouts are still delicious like that.

If you are unsure what styles you will like, try to find some bottles of different styles at the beer store and have a sampling event. maybe go in with some friends and try a bunch of new things. It's really fun and interesting to see who likes what.
