My homemade mashtun had been having a slight leak despite several washers being put on. Well, I finally just decided to put on some high temp silicone. Well, after 4 batches....no leaks, no worries!!!

Forgive me if this was posted before, but silicone can save you alot of aggrevation!!!

It can indeed, i went for the more washers and tighten the **** out of it approach, but it doesnt always work for everyone!

I've had the same problem while recently setting up my new mash tun. I realized that the hole was too close to the bottom of the cooler for the washers to seat flat against the wall. I got it to seal by incorporating the gasket that came with the cooler into my bulkhead system. For now. Might have to resort to silicone at some point.
