Hi,
Im builind a mash tun, got my cooler from home depot but decided not to buy the metal parts from them, they dont sell any stainless steel parts, only brass. Even though the brass is mostly lead free, dont want to risk it. I was looking on the northern brewer site and they sell the part I need but looks like it has bronze in it? http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/bronze-cooler-valve-kit-w-barb.html

Doesnt bronze have lead inside as well?

Saw all Stainless steel ones on ebay but not sure I trust some random person on ebay regarding what metal it is. What do you guys suggest?

I built mine from the lead free brass at HD. Have had no problems as of yet.

great thanks, didnt see the all Stainless steel one. Ebay has them as well for cheaper. I have seen the lead free brass parts from Home depot, lead free just means its .25 or lower lead content and not on the surface, still dont trust it all that much

the ebay shipping makes them cost the same as on northern brewer, looks like that is the way to go

You can get them from bargain fittings or brew hardware for slightly less than NB. Both of those guys are members here. All stainless there. I have dropped some coin at both places over the last few months getting my all-grain kit built.
