Ermmm what happens when you are supposed to mash at 152 but due to a bad thermometer you end up at 148-149??? I have a friend.... lol

It's not a huge difference. Your beer will be slightly dryer, but will certainly be drinkable.

I'd bet as many as half of the AG brewers out there have inaccurate thermometers. You at least know your thermometer is bad, that puts you ahead of them.

Get a thermapen

My preboil is 1.032...... I am hosing this up so bad..... fist ag by myself. And on top of it I am doing a double brew. And can't get second mash above 142... grrrrrr!!!

Ok so my post boil volume is just under gal. My og before yeadt is 1.058. How much top up water to get 1.051?????

You get you current gravity/target gravity=a
a-1= b and than b X volume and that will give you how much water you should add
