I made a little brewing jar of fruit and lot of sugar to try brewing. After 10 days i opened it and it smelled strong. Next day I opened it, it get gas out and then when I tasted it, it was strong and tasted like vodka. Does that mean my mash have a big alcohol percentage?

Apple fruit and grape.
1/3 Fruit
1/3 sugar
2/3 water
In a 2 pound container.

added yeast on top and an airlock.

It tast good "sweet" but strong alcohol like vodka.

Not the best way to make alcohol but it might work. You didn't make beer for sure. The yeast that lives on the skins of whatever fruit you used obviously went to work but they'll take much more time to grow and convert all of the sugars in your concoction to something drinkable. How old are you? This reminds me of something I would have tried as a teenager.

You should browse around this site for some more information about ingrediants and process. You'll learn how to make beers at home that you would go to the store and pay for.

MOD EDIT: Double post merged.

probably. how much water/fruit juice/whatever you put in did you start with and how much sugar? bread yeast or something? there's no way to determine the alcohol percentage without using a hydrometer or refractometer. but if you can provide us with some of that information, we might be able to estimate...

Mmmmm.... sounds like rotgut prison wine...

what kind of fruit? what kind of sugar? what kind of yeast? how much?

when I tasted it, it was strong and tasted like vodka. Does that mean my mash have a big alcohol percentage?

what temp did you let it ferment at? the way it sounds, probably a big fusel alcohol percentage...

So strong it made ya post the topic twice?

Yeast?
OG?
FG?
Temp?
Day pitched?

Sweet vodka sounds like one might describe a still fermenting wine.

There is no need to double post. Also, you didn't make a mash. You made wine...maybe...not really. Mostly, you won't have much success with the method you posted. What, exactly, is your intent?

Oh man I got in before it was locked.

Okay, what you'll want to do is get a cheese cloth. Now strain your prison hooch through the cheese cloth. You'll want to strain it a couple times to increase clarity. Now what type of fruit?? We need to know the Pectin content. If used bananas lord have mercy. I made a banana pineapple wine one time and man that was hard to strain. What kind of sugar? What size jar? Wait there's to many variables here. I need to know your goals before I can give a good opinion. If it tastes bad, you can always try to sweeten it. Need more info.
