Sup all, question about my options for the recirulating bulkhead.

Run down: 3 vessel HERMS electric system. I was previously using the Blichmann autosparge, which has been great. Until I decided to treat myself to a fancy Utah Biodiesel basket for the mash tun, because I like the idea of using one of those instead of a false bottom or a bag to mash in.

I opted to get the basket as big as possible in the mash tun itself knowing it be up against the return port. So now I can't use the autosparge on the kettle wall and my options are either some sort of manifold through the lid, like Brewhardware's loc-line, or I can go super simple and just clamp my tubing on the kettle lip and let it flow.

So far my two considered options:

-Loc-line through the lid with an elbow and valve on top.
-SS Brewtech recirculation manifold, assuming it fits inside my basket. Manifold hose barb>hose>Lid hose barb through lid>elbow and valve.

Would love to hear anyone's thoughts on any other options or how I could improve my existing options.

Maybe I'm missing something super simple to save me a few bucks, but at the same time I don't mind spending a few bucks as long as I know what I'm going to be doing will be worth it.

Thanks all.
Nick

The HangOver from Exchilerator may be what your looking for.

Jumping in on this two-year-old thread, because I just ordered the Hangover, with the thermowell attachment and “Trop Stop.” Can’t wait to set it up and give ‘er a go! If it goes well, I’m going to buy the whirlpool arm attachment, too, but I’ll start just by connecting some 1/2” tubing to hang down from the port into my boil. Cannot wait to try this out.
