Been thinking of adding a pump for recirculating the wort during the 60 min saccrification rest.. my thoughts are better filtration of the wort and better efficiency kinda like a robobrew or grainfather.. my only concern would be possible a stuck Bazooka tube due to more draw from a pump and possibly higher temperature loss I thought a fix for the temperature loss would be to have my wort chiller in a pot of hot water and run the wort through the chiller to help maintain temps in the mashtun. Anyone ever try this poor mans grainfather? Just an idea I thought I’d throw out there..

Recirculating without adding heat cools the mash. Heating without good control denatures enzymes. Choose one.

Filtration of the wort isn't necessary. Clear beer does not depend on clear wort. Ask any BIAB brewer. You really only need to recirculate (pitchers, not pumps) enough to keep most of the grain particles out of the boil pot. That should take about 2 pitchers of wort.

I use a pump to recirculate the last 10 minutes of the mash, and haven't gotten stuck yet. Having a way to throttle the flow (ball valve on the tun) will help avoid getting stuck. I also mash in a bag so that keeps the grain bits out of the pump, but a bazooka tube should do just fine as long as you keep the flow at a low enough rate to avoid jamming it up.
