Mash efficiency

Brewed my 6th AG batch today and for the first time my OG was higher than the predicted one .I used the Beertools calculater which assumed a 72percent efficiency.Does this mean my efficiency was better than that?This is a good thing right?I felt good about this batch .

Sounds like you're doing things right.

Yep, you got better than 72%. Now try to mimic that every time, and you'll be able to get a standard number, then you can plan all of your recipes almost exactly.

You're doing fine. Most of the time I hit 70-75%, but I've gone higher with decoctions.
