Anyone else had a really poor experience with getting support for the Mark II Keg Washer? Here's the emails he's sent me, really blown away by the attitude when I'm just trying to fix a broken part.

That’s just sad that you think a customer reaching out for support is just a liar and then act like an ass! Not only that, I thought we were discussing how much $$$$ it was going to be, no one was asking for free stuff, jackass.

Found the right place for my Dick II Keg Washer. I’m sure you think this is Photoshopped, or I just pulled it off the internet, but I assure you the middle finger is mine.

Asshat.

I didn't start out that way, but after 8 years working for free and so many people lying to me to get free stuff (free to them expensive for me) from me who were never customers in the first place, it just kind of happened

Hello,

I lost your reply to the email, but you offered a $45 pump replacement? Would this include shipping, and the additional parts for it? I’ve had this thing for over 2 years, and just now realized that I’ve been using the wrong parts, which is why I’ve never been a huge fan of this thing.

What I was doing was using the white split off for the ball lock on the top of the piping, which made it really hard to balance the keg on top, since the tubing had to come back out of the top of the keg to the ball lock, making it very unbalanced. I’ve walked out to find my keg tipped over many many times!

Then I watched a YouTube video, and there is a white part that fits at the bottom of the piping (That I don’t think I ever had), making it so that you are able to balance the keg. Drrrrrr…..

When I got it out and tried to figure out if I could reattach, it seems like it’s just a “false” ground, where there is only rubber behind that prong. Is it supposed to be that way? Should I be worried that it’s missing while I’m using this, or did it really not even function as a ground prong anyway? Thanks for the help.

What was the broken part? The ground prong?

Why didn't you just get a new one from the home store and put it on?

I've been using my Mark II keg washer for about 2 years now; in fact, cleaned 7 kegs with it on Saturday. No issues.

But if something at this point broke, I wouldn't presume it was still under warranty. IIRC, it was a 1-year warranty.

These emails are chronologically backwards btw

Well it's more about me being called a liar just by trying to get support. He just assumes I'm scamming him, when all I'm trying to do is get help? Would of just bought a new pump for $45 from him, but since I asked about the .02 piece, he decided I was a scammer.

He wasn't very helpful with me - I bought the washer like 2 years ago and have used it like 10 times since. The pump stopped working/works sporadically (I don't think the magnet inside is properly aligned). I asked him about it, and he said the first pumps were crappy and he got a new supplier, but I'd have to buy a new one - cheaper to retrofit one from harbor freight. I wouldn't buy from him again - best to do a DIY

I feel like the escalated quickly. I didn't take the buying it used part as a shot at you, then you reacted pretty harshly and it all went downhill. But that is just how I read it.

Hey internet,

You guys are right. I was seeing red yesterday.

I guess how I read it, was he was blaming my dumb configuration of where the parts connect to me just not reading the manual, and read it as massive sarcasm on his part, which is what set me off. Then the next email was about how people don't even own it, and scam him, which prompted more juvenile name calling by me, since I felt he was implying that I didn't even own one. Since I was seeing red, I just thew it away and then sent him the "proof of ownership" of it in the trash.

The silly thing is that the part I keep referring to, is the same part, just gotta flip it over to screw into the base, so just a quick explanation that it's the same part would of changed the whole tone of these emails. The only thing wrong with it is that the prong broke off, that's it.

Even reading these emails again, he did respond after this and admitted he was being a dick and would send out the part at his expense, but clearly he didn't even understand what I was asking, which was how much was a pump replacement (The prong broke). I wasn't expecting anything free, or anything to be covered under a warranty.

I felt I was innocently asking if with the $45 pump came with any of the accessories (like the piping/adapter to go to the in/out to the kegs, etc), and he took it as I'm trying to get the whole washer by getting everything but the basin for $45 and "scamming him".

Anyway, I've thrown it away (That missing ground makes me nervous) and I discovered the SS Brewtech washer, which is much more expensive, but really enjoyed their products and support. Can't wait until it comes out!

I have a Mark II and like it, but that is not the issue here. I have had two customer issues here. The first was a break in the base, on of the locking tabs, and he replaced it for free under warranty. The second time was years later, I lost the plastic riser that the kegs sit on in a move. I sent an email and he responded quickly. It was polite with the cost of the part.

Hopefully he just had a bad day or communication got crossed somehow. I know that I do not want to be judged on a single event instead of the totality of my actions.
