Maple beer

Anyone ever make a beer using maple sap as the water to start with?

Interesting idea. But during the boil you'd basically be making wort and maple syrup at the same time.

Someone on here talked about doing that. I can't remember if it added much. Did you try searching it? I don't remember the members' name.

I did a simple all grain brew last sap season, replacing all the water with sap. I didn't notice any flavor contributions. You have to boil down a lot of sap to start getting any maple flavor. You might want to try a maple wine instead. http://scorpius.spaceports.com/~goodwine/maplewine.htm
