So I have a half a gallon of maple syrup I've been planning on adding to a brew.
I had a recipe around here somewhere that calls for 2 liters of maple syrup. However when I looked at the sugar content on the syrup, there are 32 servings containing 53 grams of sugar each.
32x53=1696
1696/20=84.8
So according to me hydrometer, adding this whole 2 liters as recommended is going to kick my gravity up more than 4% alcohol.
Anyone have experience with maple beers, or other sugars? I am thinking of using maybe half as much syrup.
