Thanks in advance for replys. I have done a few extract brews to get familiar with the process and I feel comfortable going to all grain. I would rather make a tun as to buying one, and here's my plan. Using a rectangle cooler and can remove to spigot and attach a stainless one instead. From there I can use plastic tubing with a valve and tube clamp to keep it tight. As far as filtration I think I can use a grate in the sink near to spigot to remove solids. Does anyone have any concerns or see any problems that could arise? I would be worried about getting poor outflow because of the grate blocking up or having grain pass through the grate and block the tube or valve. Suggestions?

I think you'd want a false bottom or the mesh tubing. I don't think you want to pass grain through the spigot at all. It will clog instantly. Even when I pour wort through a funnel with a screen, it clogs instantly.

Agreed for the most part.
