Hey everybody. I joined a few years ago and have only just recently begun actually brewing. I'm on my first batch ever doing an Irish stout. Seems to be going pretty well. I also ordered a Pliny The Elder kit online for my next brew. Nice to meet you guys.

Welcome! I grew up in lansing, live in Grand Ledge now. Lots of good homebrew stores around town now, and a couple of good homebrew clubs too, you should check them out (if you havent already!)

I've been to Capital City Homebrew Supply on Michigan Ave. It's pretty sweet. I don't know of any clubs though. Do you have any websites or Facebook links I could check out?

I lived in Lansing for about 10 years, left for Chicago about 5 years ago. There were no homebrew places then, except for the now defunct store at Michigan Brewing Co. The more popular sites I use are Northern Brewer, Midwest Supplies, Adventures in Homebrewing (in Taylor, MI or thereabouts, www.homebrewing.org)

Welcome to the site. I've been in the Lansing area for 10 years now and brewing for about 5.

I've moved all of my business over to Capital City HBS. Jordan really knows his stuff. I also like the selection of specialty malts: light on Briess (of which I'm not a fan) and heavy on international brands (Crisp, Weyermann, etc.)

He was really helpful on my first batch. I got about 12 hours of fermentation and then nothing. He asked a few questions, gave me some advice, and a day later everything was working again. Turned out the area I had the fermenter in was too cold. I just had to move it to a warmer place.

I buy from The Red Salamander in Grand Ledge. Its really close to my house, but it is also a lot bigger than the other homebrew stores in Lansing, and I know they turn over their product really fast:

And the club I am a member of is called the Red Ledgers:

I think Capital City Brew is starting a club as well, give em a call and check it out!
