Hi everyone!
I prepared an all extract IPA, the OG came ou lower than expected, i think i used to little LME.
is there a way to add something while in primary fermentation to make the alcohol content higher?
thanks
Did you have a recipe? If you did or it was a kit your OG will not be off. If it was a kit they usually sent the proper amount of LME and you should use it all.
If you topped off with water it is very difficult to mix thoroughly leading to bad gravity readings.
If your fermentation has not started you could boil some of the LME, cool it then add it to the fermenter.
It was not a kit, it's a recipe I prepared with brewmaster. My og was supposed to be 1.070. And it came out 1.040.
Can I add table sugar, corn sugar or something else to the fermenter after two days of fermentation?
Did you stir it VERY well before taking the OG? If you didn't do a full boil and added water to bring up to volume, you might have stratification.. heavy sinks.. water "floats"

that's what i was thinking, man. with an extract brew, if you follow the directions, it's near impossible to miss your OG. but if you topped up with water, and that water wasn't mixed in thoroughly, you're reading may have been thin. there was probably no need to add that 'sugar water'.
