I made my second batch of beer on Monday (White House Honey Ale) using an airlock to seal the top. Tuesday morning it was bubbling away happily but when I got home from work some foam had infiltrated the airlock.

I quickly made a blowoff tube using my tubing and an apple cider bottle with water.

I'm not seeing much bubbling from it now. Is that normal? I figure it may take some time for the pressure inside to build up again? Or does a blowoff tube just bubble less? Or did I screw something up?

Pulling out the airlock to put a blow off tube in can release a lot of pressure quickly. dito if just removing the center piece to install a blow off tube on that. It can take a bit to build up pressure again. Unless, like I said,it's done or was close to it. How big was the blow off tube?

No doubt, the most active and energetic fermenting was just about done. Leave it alone for three weeks, then bottle it. It'll be fine.
