Anyone with a Grainfather think I can still brew in the morning?
Ok good to know.I haven't used it for years. Also ditched the overflow pipe too (plugged the hole in the bottom plate). I think you'll be fine.
Ok good to know.
So you just eliminate the overflow aspect altogether.
Instead of plugging the bottom plate I could just keep the stopper in the top that you are supposed to use when stirring in grains I suppose.
Do you still recirculate? I’m just thinking of where that hose will sit. With the top plate it sits on the plate of course. Just let it sit straight down into the grain bed?
Much appreciatedYeah, long story about why I got rid of the overflow, but it works well for me. Yes, I still recirculate. The wort is delivered through a floating mashcap. In your case I would just find a way to suspend the end of the return tube and disperse the flow a bit. I have actually used a makeshift tinfoil boat for this before - ugly but it worked. But hanging the tube from the edge of the malt pipe with a bit of wire or string could work as well. Lots of possibilities.
