I want to go full electric with HERMS but don't have the slightest knowledge of electronics. Does anyone have recommendations or advice or anything helpful resources

Take a long hard look at www.theelectricbrewery.com

You can do it yourself using the instructions and forum support there, but if you'd rather you can buy an assembled control panel from them or from www.ebrewsupply.com

Good luck, I've got one brew down on my new electric brewery and I couldn't be happier. I had been all grain brewing on duel propane burners for about five years. I was a little hesitant to abandon my tried and true brewery, but I'm more than glad I did it.

I'm gonna suggest the wiring primer for brewers ghats stickied in this forum as a start point. Followed by more research on acceptable wiring practice's before you even start ordering parts. Safety should come first when attempting something like this so you don't electrocute yourself or burn your house down

If you're not confident in your skills or if you feel you just simply want someone else to do it, Brumatic will be happy to build a panel for you to suit your needs.

If you're going DIY then theelectricbrewery.com should be your best resource. In fact, you can buy a panel from him as well. I went with another vendor simply based on price and he walked me through customization to fit my needs. The Electric Brewery outlines everything you will need to do. Buy the book he sells online, it's worth it.

You should also decide what size batches you want to be able to brew and whether you think you'll want to do back to back batches. If you don't care about back to back batches then a 30amp panel will be fine and you'll be able to save some cash.

Thanks everyone...I have a lot of research ahead of me for this build...I will have my dad walking me through somethings for help he is an electrician and is very eager to help out. Especially if he gets some product

There is a lot to learn on what is available as an option. Once you get an idea of what's available then you can figure out what you'd like to incorporate and what you would not.

Question one: how much beer are you planning on brewing at a time?
Question two: where are you planning on brewing and how tall is the ceiling in that space?

Well I'm looking to start 10 gallon batches soon. As far as space and location not sure yet I'm about to move to California and I'm not sure on the space I'll have when I get there. Why do you ask?

Brewing with electricity is usually an indoor activity (one of the huge benefits to electric brewing) so when designing your electric brew setup you want to take into account the space it'll go into. You have to account for the water vapor generated, a good 2 gals worth of water in many cases, during a typical brew day.

Also if your ceiling is tall enough you can go full gravity system with no pumps. Like a three tier system. That'll save you chunk of change

Or you can use 12v or 24v food grade pumps which cost about $20 each with shipping plus another $5-10 for a power supply to power them...I use three of these permanently mounted/ plumbed in my system with camlocks to remove them for cleaning or inspection if needed.

I've been looking for you lately!

I have a question about these pumps and power sources. But I don't want to jack this thread, so check out my build :)
