hey y’all , Lookin to make a red beer , Seeing if anyone ladies or gentlemen wanted to share a red beer 5 gallon recipe
Thank you kindly

Please always consider the stray animals they need a home !

The easiest way is to use redX malt only, with an og up to 1.05. this will be as red as possible.

Other methods include dark roast malt in small percentages, like black Prince or roasted barley for example. But these would bring obviously the flavour into a slightly roasty direction.

I brewed a redx based beer ones, was the reddest beer I've brewed so far.

My favorite red is an Irish red ale based Charlie Papazian's "Palace Bitter, " with 1/4 lb. roasted malt and 1/4 lb. crystal malt replacing the 3/4 lb. crystal malt:

4 1/2 lbs. Munton's DME
1/4 lb. Munton's roasted malt
1/4 lb. crystal malt 40 to 60 L
1/2 F & 3/4 Stryian Goldings (boil) 6 HBU 60 min.
1/4 Fuggles and 1/4 Stryian Goldings (flavor and bitterness) 30 min.
1/2 Stryian Goldings (flavor) 15 min.
1/2 Stryian Goldings (aroma)
1 Nottingham ale yeast

I've done this with hop and/or yeast variations, but the above has been the favorite way over the years.
I know it's extract and HBUs, but I'm an old school guy. If you're all-grain and IBUs, I have faith you can translate..
