Has anyone out there tried an all grain Pacifico. My dad likes water- flavored beer. From my understanding, it's a pilsner. What type of yeast would I be using? I also single-step mash so multiple rests are tough for me.

From my limited knowledge, it's a Vienna style lager right? Most Mexican beer are. Anyway, I think I remember seeing a recipe for something similar around here... I'll help you look when I get the chance, I enjoy that beer on occassion. I'm an equal opportunity beer drinker.

Pacifico is a pilsner style beer, not a Vienna lager.

Look for lager recipes using lots or corn and moderate hopping.

you could also go all pilsner malt and just use alot of water. you'd get yellow beer. aim around 1.040 or so...

noble german hops. .5 oz kettle, .5 oz of the same spread over the boil, maybe half at 30 min half at flameout.

lager yeast, and you'd need to have a way to lager the beer for a spell at a controlled temp.

Im gonna tell him you said that......

heres a start, maybe you can just improve or use this

12 gallons

10 lb. German Pilsner
2 lb. German Vienna
4 lb. German Munich
3 lb. Rice (raw)

2.5 oz. Saaz 3.6% AA,
1 oz. Saaz 3.6% AA,
1 oz. Saaz

and make sure you bottle in clear bottles and leave on windowsill for 30 minutes to achieve skunkiness

Emperor Maximillian brought two good things to Mexico...... beer and congac. Negra Modelo would get my vote as a better Mexican beer.

I full on agree... course, it didn't end well for him...
