I fairly new to home brewing and at a local grocery store they have grapefruit on sale. 8 lbs for $1.99 to be exact. And I was thinking about trying to make a wine with them but I tried looking online and haven't found any recipes. Does any one have any suggestions or is their any reason why people don't make grapefruit wine. Help will be appreciated.

My guess is because it's highly acidic which could present challenges. I'm in the middle of reading "The Compleat Meadmaker" which talks a bit about this. I would recommend picking this book up (though I will warn you it gets a bit too much into the history and anthropology of mead for my tastes). But, at about $12 from Amazon, it's worth the read.

Search jack keller's requested recipe and you'll find one.

I love the history part of the compleat mead maker :p
