I ordered some liquid yeast online and thought I chose quick shipping. It looks like it will take 7-10 days. I did order it with ice packs and shipping is from Ontario Canada to BC with Canada Post.

Do you think the yeast will still be viable? I'm planning on doing a starter anyway.

never had problems of viability in liquid yeast for delivery till 7 days. with a starter you will be sure the yeast is still alive.

As long as the route does not experience a heat wave, it should be fine. Make the proper sized starter and you will know for sure quickly.

No doubt the yeast will be fine. I make starters for every batch. Either shaken when really fresh, or stir-plate when the yeast is old. I just started my frozen bank. I just started 18 month old Kolsch yeast. It was shipped with ice packs in June, 21. 24hr visual wake-up, and 2 days on the plate. No doubt your yeast is good, especially this time of year.
