Have been reading up alot on the forums, figured I would finally make an account & introduce myself.

My name is TJ Powers,
I am a new home brewer from Indianapolis, IN. I got into brewing in October because I was extremely curious how beer in general is made, but most importantly what ingredients make my favorite craft beers taste so good.

I have been doing extract kits from a local supplier called Great Fermentations with great success.

I'm using a basic setup: 7.5 gal ss brew pot, 6.5 gal plastic bucket fermenter, 5 gal glass carboy, 5 gal plastic big mouth bubbler, immersion wort chiller, yeast starters & an old turkey fryer burner.

So far I have bottled:
#1 Irish red ale extract
#2 Cream ale extract
#3 Zombie dust clone extract
#4 Gumball head clone extract (added 0.5 oz citra hops as a dry hop.) <-my personal fav so far
#5 White House honey ale extract

I have a Glacier hopped amber ale extract in secondary at the moment.

I am learning the flavors & personalities of different grains & hops & having fun!

I will be moving to all grain at some point, but I don't want to rush into it. I want to perfect the basics first.

Anyways, thanks for all the future help!

Hi Y'all! :mug:

Welcome!

Starting with extract batches is a great way to get a handle on a lot of the brewing processes before complicating things with the extra steps of all-grain.
