I know... how many people are going to use that subject... but it is true, been drinking beer since I was able, and now I have started down the brew at home path.
My wife gave me a Mr. Beer for Christmas (black Friday special) so I started started off simple with their LME Weissbier (20 Min Boil, Spilled ~1/5 of the wort as I poured into the LBK, Topped off to 2 gal, waited 14 days, bottled, waited 12 days). Around day 15 I realized I was going to have to fill my pipeline if I wanted to actually stop buying beer from the grocery store and went to my local home brew shop, Brew Depot, to pick up a can of Coopers Diablo LME and a pack of Centennial (wanted to be creative). When I started the brew session I realized I bought a can that would normally be used for a 5 gal batch and I did not have DME to add so I went off script (Boiled the LME for 45 mins, Added .33 oz of hops at 0, 30 and 40, Spilled ~1/5 of the worth as I poured into the LBK, Topped off to 3 gal). The next weekend I got impatient, brewing 2-3 gallons at a time was going to take too long to fill my pipe, and went back to the home brew store and bought a 5 gal equipment kit with a can of Coopers Real Ale, bag of Light DME and a pack of Citra. Boiled this batch for an hour with .5 oz of hops at 10 and 40 then topped to 5 gallons. The results so far have been Good - Mr. Beer Kit, Drinkable (but really awful) - Diablo IPA, Quite Good (Real Ale). Since this post is already too long, I will say that I have brewed twice more, another Mr. Beer LME 2 gal batch and my first 5 gal BIAB partial mash IPA. The 2 gal batch has been bottled and the 5 gal batch is dry hopping and waiting to be kegged.
