That says it all...looking for something fun to do in the bleak St. Louis winter. Still getting gear together...buddy gave me a wine making kit with some of the basics...carboy was the main thing I wanted...So I've got two and nothing else.
 
Congrats, and welcome to the obsession. By the time you get all of you gear together and ready to brew this site will have you all set and ready to have your first successful brewday.
 
Thanks, I'm guessing the way to go is with an extract kit with some fermentables...gotta walk before I can run.

Went to the local Friar Tucks and bought a bunch of different beers this past weekend...think I'm partial to the lighter Belgium ale's...not a fan of dunkels or IPA's just yet.
 
It all depends on you and what you feel comfortable with. Some people jump right into it. I started out with extract kits from my LHBS (Local Home Brew Store) and then eventually moved up to AG.
