Of course. Depends on how much you want to make. Yeast starters should have an OG of 1.030-1.040 to provide optimal growth conditions for the yeast. So if you want to make a 1L starter, use about 0.25 lbs LME, boil it in 1L of water until it hot breaks, then cool it and pitch your yeast. That will give you a gravity of 1.035 or so. You may have a bit more than 1L depending on how much volume the syrup adds and how much you let boil off, but it will be close enough.

0.8 x LME weight. Then use 10g for every 100ml. So for a 1L use 100/ 0.8 = 125g LME
