LME vs DME

My recipe calls for 0.5lbs of wheat LME, if I use DME wheat extract instead do I still use 0.5lbs? Also how will switching to DME effect the taste of my beer?

The conversion is 1 lb LME = 0.8 lb DME. I've never used much DME so don't know for sure, but I don't think there will be any noticeable difference with just a half pound. The few times I've used DME, I really couldn't tell the difference, but some folks think the DME tastes cleaner.

Exact points per pound per gallon really depends on the manufacturer. Breiss lists their values, I do not know if the other manufacturers list theirs.
