Made a Corona clone today and efficiency was very high. First time I made a two step mash and efficiency was that high! It's now in fermentation bin and now I was thinking that I should have add water so that the sugar level would get lower? Isn't it too late now? Isn't it?

Think of it this way - you made an Imperial Mexican Lager!

Seriously, I tend not to try to fix or adjust volume or OG after the boil. In your case, sure you'd lower the ABV, but you'd also make the beer thinner in the mouthfeel, lower the perception of hop bitterness and dilute the other flavors. I'd leave it and enjoy it for what it is.

Nothing wrong with a strong beer. Most of my beer are 5.5% to 6.5%.

I just came back for asia drinking Red Horse, its 6.9% - its a soild pale lager easy drinking beer.

I would be interested to know how it turns out and to see the recipe. Looking to make a Corona Clone myself soon and have not yet settled on any particular recipe.

A little Corona trivia for you: Corona meets the US labeling guidelines for gluten free.

According to tests done by the Argentine Coeliac Association (ACELA) and the Swedish National Food Agency, Corona beer, contains less than 20 ppm, making it legally gluten-free.[9] This is probably due to the fact that Corona, like most pale lagers, contains rice and/or corn in addition to malted barley. Corona has made no statement regarding these tests.

A friend of mine who can only drink gluten-free beer confirms this for me - she can drink Corona without consequences.

All most every beer that don't have wheat in it is gluten-free, I've heard. The mash, cooking and fermentation destroys the gluten. I understood that the process of testing gluten in beer is very hard to do and can't be trusted 100%. Best thing is to the test yourself and see how it goes (if you aren't super allergic)

Link in the first post and then I'm going to post a video on my YouTube channel next week, how I made it , I can post a link in this thread too.

I'm not a big Corona fan but will be interested to see how this turns out. Agree that you should just let it ride and see what happens.

Nothing wrong with the taste, it was good. 7.2% and you got drunk from few beers :D

Nice! I did biermunchers centennial blonde a while back as I was switching from all grain to partial mash and I was getting used to the effect of 1 pound of DME on gravity and I put one too many pounds in there and ended up with a 7% golden blonde. It definitely left some alcohol taste as it lacked the body to hide it but it was still very drinkable and it didn’t take much!

Not sure how most members feel about it but when I come in a bit high on my OG or lower on my FG, I do a little happy dance! I view it as a win.

Me too, unless trying to really clone something. I always seem to come in slightly under the predicted FG though... might be from being kinda halfassed with my sparge/mashout temps.
