Are any of those little 7 oz bottles that BMC offer pry offs or are they all twist off. If they are all twist off's does anyone know a small bottle thats cheap and easy to obtain? I want to share my beer with co-workers but one is 9% and some of these people will throw away half the beer if its to strong.

I use them sometimes for testers. Unfortunatly I'm no use to you for a source...

Just agreeing with you about using them... They are great little things...

Corona's not twist-off, is it? I mean, they're clear, but they do offer it in 7oz. bottles.

I expect these beers to be drank within 2 days of bottling so clear shouldnt pose to much of a problem.

For like $30 you can get a really good bench capper and just cap the twist tops. I drank about 4 of the 12 Budweiser bottles that I bought...poured the rest.

**NOTE!
I'm not Bashing BMC...Just wishing Coors came in 7 oz bottles.

How well do the twist tops cap? Since the curved "lip" is not there, just the little threads, is there enough for the cap to hold onto?

A good Bench capper just mashes the cap into the threads on the bottle. The cool thing is that you can just twist the tops right off.
I've done a LOT of twist top bottles...and never had a leaker....Knocking on wood now!
Give it a shot.....cap a few in your next batch....you'll either have great luck like i do, or you'll hate it and never do it again. Either way, You'll know.
I can cap BUD bottles with a wing capper...they have the shoulder to catch the claw on the capper. Give that a shot...carefully! and with one or 2 bottles.

Corona makes 7oz nips without twist offs. I love these and use them as testers when I bottle. My brother's wife drinks the hell out of them and I get them from her.

Just remember that beer can start to skunk in less than a minute in a volume that size in a clear bottle, so handling properly is still important if you use clear glass.

Depending on your beer distributors, Little Kings may be an option (brewery in OH). I know they are 7 oz green bottles but can't remember if they are twist off or poppers. I have a feeling they may be twists but the green would be a small step up from the clear.

I've seen some jamaican ginger 'brew' in 7 oz bottles. I think they were pry tops. I'll check them out when I hit the grocery store today.

Coke bottles are something I did not think of before and they have that nostalgia to them. But Corona bottles are easier to find. On to my point for posting though.

I got some Miller light 7oz bottles and tried to cap some with just water and 1 with beer. No matter how hard I press on the capper I can easily twist the cap off. Easy enough that I am wary of transporting them and giving them to anyone else for fear they might accidentally remove the cap. I want to share my beer but I want it to be drank not spilled. I have both a Stand capper and a Wing capper and both seem to do about the same. Is this normal or is there a special technique to capping screw off bottles?

Corona bottles or Coke bottles and spray paint might be the best option :)

Pour some coke in it, cap it, and shake it the crap out of it. I've never tried this but I'm interested in the results.

Anyone ever try those "single" bottles of store-bought champagne?

I think it's..........Korbel maybe? My grocery store sells them for picnics and the such.

I would like to use small 7oz or so bottles for my 999 Barleywine. Lord knows I'd never be able to enjoy the 2nd half of the bottle!!

Morebeer.com has some great 6oz bottles that I used to share some barleywine with some co-workers --
