Man, Gregg Williams put that #1 passing offense in a mufuggin headlock! He didn't even have to get creative or even blitz. Just a 4-man front. Kitna is trash...if you guys had a decent QB it'd be one thing. The only reason he's been so highly rated before yesterday is because of all those great receivers. But alas, no more.

And the fact that Campbell took it to you guys without Moss for 4 quarters and then without Randle El for 2 quarters, well I daresay your defense is hideous too.

I think Kitna is the goods, it's the line that sucks. Kitna has had to learn this offense and he's done as good as possible with it, but when an offense is as one-dimensional as the Lions, it isn't hard to defend against it.

4 and 2 baby! :rockin:

The only contest on Sunday between teams with winning records, and the LIONS win.

It's still too early in the season to see if we've turned a corner though.

16 to 7 over the Bears. The Lions have swept the Bears this season, are 3 and 0 in the division and 4 and 0 at home.

Also, the Lions have shown the rest of the league how to limit Hester's impact on special teams.

Playoff bound? Maybe! :ban:

That ain't sayin' much.;) The whole division is mediocre, at best this year. Winning the NFC North is like saying you're the tallest midget.

I've officially given up on the Bears. Anyone still think Griese is the answer? I hate to say I told you so, but...

I'll make no further effort to watch a game. If one happens to be on in a bar or room I happen to be in, fine - I'll take a look. But all in all, I'd rather spend my Sunday afternoons brewing.

It's like winning the National League Central in baseball.

There are certainly worse divisions in football. Outside of the Pats, the AFC East is horrible. The NFC West is even worse.

At least there's two potential playoff contenders in the NFC North - although I fully expect the Lions to fold as usual.

Losing to Arizona sucks. We needed this win badly and now we will fade into loserdom.

Giants, Dallas, KC and Green Bay twice. I think our season is over from here on out.

At Minnesota in the third quarter we are down 35 to 10. It's fair to say that we will not win another game this year.

Kitna's prediction of a 10 and 6 season was close, just backwards, I predict we finish the season 6 and 10.

6-10 would be close to one of the most monumental collapases in league history. Close to the annual Minnesota Vikings collapses. :D

I feel for you--I've had Kitna as my FFB QB in 4 leagues this year. He's killing me. I can imagine what he's doing to you!

I don't blame Kitna though. I really think it's our offensive line (very offensive). Martz may be a genius, but he's too aggressive. Much like a certain quarterback that gets a lot of attention.:D

Oh, man, don't start that. I can feel Dudes blood pressure rising already from a thousand miles away.............:D

It's just painful to watch now.

The irony is, if I have something to do, ill DVR the game and then avoid the score/updates at all costs..

So, I get home, fire it up and watch the hell...

It's like prolonging the pain. It's horrific.

And can someone remind me why we wouldn't have drafted AP? That bothers me.
It bothered me on draft day and bothers me now.
Though, the offensive line wouldn't have given him a hole to run through, but still...

Next year, we should draft another QB to ruin. That'd be awesome.

7-9 here we come baby!

I get frustrated as hell watching games like yesterday's but after I've had time to calm down and stop swearing at my TV I realize that this team *finally* is getting better. I think that hiring Marinelli was one of the few things that Millen has done with in 7 years.

The biggest problem on offense isn't with Martz' system, it's the O-line. Backus is not a starting caliber LT, RT has been a turnstyle, and everyone that's played guard has been a disappointment.

Martz' system has a lot of 7 step drops for receivers to get downfield with the QB throwing to spots. It takes about 2 seconds to make that drop, then Kitna has to check his receivers and see which spot he wants to throw to. It's hard for him to execute the offense when he's on his back.

Although for everything that he brings to the table in terms of leadership and toughness, the Lions need to start thinking seriously about a replacement. Kitna's 35, he's gottne the snot beat out of him the last 2 seasons, and he can't seem to win games when they're on the line for the taking.

They won't draft a QB in '08 - they took Drew Stanton in the 2nd round last year. He's been on IR all year, but he should know the offense pretty well by the time training camp comes next summer.

Yeah, the Skins are as bad or worse these days. The most frustrating part is that Campbell looks like the best QB we've had in decades, and our O-line is finally healthy, and Chris Cooley is one of the best TE's in the game, and Moss is healthy and making spectacular catches...yet, all that greatness becomes teh suxxorz once they get inside the 20. And then Gibbs makes that unbelievably awful delay penalty at the end to make a 51-yard try a 36-yard chipshot. F*ck me, Joe, you got alzheimers or what? Between that crap and their hideous clock management, I just don't see him sticking around much longer. He's too old. Sorry, Joe, we love ya, but damn.

we didn't take AP because he has a history of injury, think charles rogers,. they better be getting some o-line personnel this offseason or the coaching staff will fall next year.

Old Man Ford will let Millen ride it out with Marinelli. They've both probably got at least 2 more seasons. The team is improving. They still suck, but they don't suck quite as much.

The defense is an embarassment and other than some offensive lineman, I expect the next two drafts to be heavily weighted towards the defense.

Old man Ford will ride it out until people stop buying tickets and other merchandise. Everybody needs to just say NO to Lions and then after loosing money Ford will sell the team or hire a GM who actually knows more about football than a PeeWee coach.

At the rate Kitna is being sacked, we will definitely be needing one.

I'm amazed he hasn't gotten injured. He has taken a few HARD hits.

God must really be on his side.

Stanton isn't hurt.
He's safe on IR, so they can train him. :D

My comment about drafting a QB was from our history of ruining rookie QB's in the past. Drew will be ruined in 08.

We didn't take AP because of Tatum and Kevin Jones.
It doesn't matter though, even with AP our run game would be a limp dick. Our offensive line create a hole? Never.
Hell, at the rate Kitna gets hurried or sent into a scramble, Adrian would have been hurt much earlier in the season...

AP sidenote....
Is this dude the bionic man or what? Breaks a collar bone? Comes back stronger. Injures tendons? Comes back faster.
He is incredible. I've been a fan of his since his 2nd year of college ball. He is an outstanding back with excellent field vision. He could be better then *gasp* Barry.

Bite your tongue!:D I think that's subjective, Barry was entertaining for his ability to change direction and all of his "backfield" yards. But, the Barry incident is just one more example of our management/coaching staff screwing up the team. If anyone ever deserved a ring, it was Barry.

The fact that Barry was even ever a Lion still pi$$es me off. He should have been a Packer. Barry was picked third that year if I remember correctly. And who did the Packers take #1????? Tony Man-I'm-Rich, one of the biggest draft day screw-ups ever.

If we never would have had Barry at all...I can't imagine how badly we would have sucked. He alone made us a contender against any team. Even Barry couldn't have won a Superbowl by himself, but on any given sunday, the Lions had a chance at victory.

I remember Mandarich. A Michigan State grad, right?

Aikman #1, Mandarich #2, Sanders #3, Derrick Thomas #4, Deion #5.

I was watching a mix-video the other day of Barry... Some of the cuts he made were absolutely incredible. It was like the guy had legs made of jello.

He's like Larry Burndorfer. Speed Walking Champion of the midwest.

Comcast commercial? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
