Is there a suitable substitution for Bravo Hop? My LHBS says it is hard for them to get in Canada. Suggested they would substitute it with something else. She did not say what that was. Any thoughts? It is going into an amber pale style beer.

Does anyone on here order Hops/grains online? Any concerns with freshness doing this?

I get most of my stuff from morebeer.com and never had freshness issues.

Warrior and Columbus would be good substitutes for Bravo.

It depends what you are using it for. If you are using it for bittering (toward the beginning of the boil), Magnum, Warrior, or Columbus would be good subs, if you're using it toward the end of the boil, you might be better off with something like amarillo/centennial to capture some of the fruity/floral characteristic from Bravo.

I get almost everything from Ritebrew.com out of Wisconsin. Prices can't be beat, 2- day shipping (to me) and no freshness problems ever. Closest Homebrew store is a 2- hour drive one-way. Got some hops from Yakima Valley online a couple weeks ago that look great too.

Edit: got the latest shipment yesterday: Briess bulk grains dated 8/20/18 and Omega yeast dated 12/4/18 - nope, no problems with freshness.

US Shipping not really viable here in Canada. Any Canadians on here buying grain online?
