I am fixing to brew a Classic American Pilsner. A little 6-row, a little flaked corn, a goodly amount of hops. Creamy smooth and tasty for the Summer ahead. Much like a Czech Pils, but with 6-row and corn.

What you making?

You must have a chiller to be making a pilsner this late in the season. Temperatures are now too high for me to do that. Next batches in November.

I do, but if I did not I would probably make a golden ale.

I'm making a porter. I think my beer calendar is a little screwed up. :D

November........NOVEMBER!!! Man.... thats in 6 BLOODY MONTHS! :drunk:

I'll probably be able to handle the wieght load of brewing next month. Thinking of that smoked raspberry porter I posted in another thread. Got a feeling from HurricaneFloyd that porters are not necessarily a summer brew, but I've brewed a few wheats already (although I just tried the first attempt at AG, which was an attampt at Sams Summer Ale.... very strong stuff... might try that again as it certainly dont taste as I was aiming for...hindsight I probably should have added some water to think it out ).

I'll probably try a Kolsh soon which should be a decent summer brew. Also have been kicking around the possibility of a blonde ale. Maybe a oatmeal stout in the works too to sit around till the fall or so. :D

Not much here.

I'm getting ready to move. The last batch was a clean-up beer where I used grains and hops I had lying around. It's designed to be very drinkable since it is for a canoe trip in July.

I'm definately itching to make a Helles, but I have to wait until I'm in the new house :(.

Just racked my Boulevard clone to secondary tonight. Man, that American Hefe yeast stinks. Kind of a combination of smelly feet and rotten eggs. In fact, it smells remarkably like my cubicle after I got back from the all you can eat pizza buffet at lunch today.:drunk: The first batch I did of this recipe turned out great, and it stunk to high heaven too. Good thing the smell goes away - it makes a great lawnmower beer.

One of these days I need to make a real German Hefe. That sounds really good after a day in the hot sun. I also want to make a Trappist beer this summer so it's ready for the fall.

got a kolsch ready to rack, a wit conditioning, and have the ingredients for a hefe and a blonde ale. i'd like to do a belgian blonde too, but the calendars pretty full already.

I am brewing a Mexican style lager....a Session Lager if you will. Not a corona, but one of the better kinds.

I may try making a summer wheat as well.

just made a wit beer, the belgian yeast works just fine in the texas heat... up to 75 degrees that is... I manage this with ice water bath around the carboy.... tastes great

Got a pilsner which is starting to taste good, and my first all grain hefeweizen almost ready to bottle. Making an ESB next and pitching a pale ale on top of it. Then maybe some massive IPA on top of that for the winter. Perhaps another hefe for mid-summer if this one turns out ok.

I'm drinking a saison, a hefe and an IPA.

I've got an APA in secondary and a Wit in primary.

I'm trying some sort of raspberry beer next: going to brew it with a freind for the wives.

That should get me mostly through the summer: I might do another batch of the saison, too: maybe try fermenting it at very high temp with Wyeast 3522 (whose ideal range extends to 85 F!).

I'll be brewing a Belgian Wit and a hopped-up IPA within the next few weeks...I just bottled my Yukon Arctic Red clone a couple weeks ago, and it's coming along quite nicely. My Nut Brown Ale has been conditioning for about 2 months now, and it keeps getting better and better with each new bottle. :mug:

Well the wife has put in a request for a cherry wheat, and Im down to 15 left of my APA which will need to be redone soon.

Moving! Well good luck with that. I would offer my pick-up truck, but the commute is a little extreme.

Maybe I wasn't clear. I meant what are you going to make that is DRINKABLE. :mug:

HEFEWEIZEN is Germany for a waste of water, hops and time.:)
I guess I better get a batch of chipotle ale going, then. Need to get a batch kegged before Squealfest (annual celebration of Burt Reynold's magnum opus Deliverance)!

Do you mean Hefe Weizen is German...not Germany?

Just how many arguments do you want to be involved in there, Marine? (reference to USMCRUZ) :D

Correction - German. As they say, the mind is the first thing to go...
