Ok, times are tight and here is what we have left in the pantry...

8lbs 2-row
4lbs Wheat Malt
3lbs Vienna
1lb Special Roast 50l
1lb Crystal 40l
.5lb Munich
.5lb Patent Black
.5lb Crystal 20l
.25lb Crystal 80l

4oz Perle
Plenty of Vangaurd (Hallertau)

Nottingham Yeast

My Brother & I brew 10gallon batches.

Just for giggles I put it all in beersmith & got 1.047 at 19srm, sounds like brown ale, but I'm guessing it would be a train wreck if I tossed it all in...

I thought you'd have enough to do a 10gal batch, but then I saw you do 10 gallon batches :D. I'd leave out the black patent, and you'll probably have a drinkable brown.

+2 leave out the black patent. I'd go as simple as 2-row, Special Roast, Crystal 40 + 20, Small amount of bittering hops, Hallertau to finish, and you will have a sick brown ale.

If I leave out the black it will be amber, not brown. I've been looking at mild recipes and came up with this...

BTW, I love beersmith. There is no way my lazy bones would bother to do all that calculation:ban:

The only thing I'm on the fence about is perhaps using the 1lb of Crystal 40 instead of the wheat, but I dont want too much crystal in there. I know the wheat doesn't belong either but I need the fermentables...
