My first 1g batch is a hefe that started off fermenting vigorously. After 3 days took off blow off and added airlock.

I did not do starting hydrometer readings... as I did not want to waste beer lol... thought I would just wait the full 2 weeks and then bottle directly from fermenter. At 9 days krauzen has fallen and all pretty quiet looking. Any harm letting primary fermentation to go to full 2 weeks without transfer to secondary?

I would say I use a hydrometer for starting and finishing gravity readings maybe half the time. I'm lazy like that. Based on the style, previously brewed batch experience with the same stuff, airlock activity and duration, etc., I move to bottle (or keg). Sometimes I may take a FG reading to see if I hit that, but I haven't had to repitch or had any stuck fermentations (yet).

I'm a 'throw caution to the wind' kinda brewer I guess. I appreciate the science behind everything but just roll with it and have fun.

I rarely check gravity before 14 days and sometimes I just don't bother at all if it is a recipe I have done before. Let it ride. No harm in letting it go longer.
I would recommend getting a refractometer instead of using a hydrometer for small batch brewing. You only need a drop to check the progress of fermentation. These will give you results in Brix instead of SG but there are conversion charts to convert the numbers.
