I use common spiral notebooks as well. I put down style,name,& date brewed. Then todays date & time I did whatever. List ingredients & amounts,step by step instructions of what I actually did.
Every day I do something with it,even just an observation,gets month,day,& time of day. This includes fermenting temps & notes,what I see including bubbling during intial fermentation,how long,etc.
Then tasting notes,aroma,color,how many bottles & when,when fridge time starts. Observations next morning on any chill haze,etc.
