Leaking plate chiller

I started using a plate chiller for my last 2 batches. The chiller has been leaking from the water in connection. I used plumbing tape on the threads, but this didn't help. I have been turning the water on all the way. Should I be reducing the flow of water going in, or is the chiller defective?

Maybe, but probably not. I have one hose that works terribly with my plate chiller, and I have 2 more that make a perfect seal, have you tried another hose? (I do crank the water up during the summer in the winter I let it trickle)

I tried tightening the hose disconnect with a wrench and think that will solve the problem. From a thread on another forum this problem was fixed by doing this. Thanks for you reply.
