Hello all. I tried growing some hops from some bine cuttings a friend gave me, cascade I was told, and two have made it. But their leaves do not look like the leaves in most peoples photos. The appear to be single leaves rather than the triple segment leaves that I usually see. Are they just immature still? Are they some type of mutant - lol. What gives? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but this is my first time even being around hops, let alone trying to grow them myself.

Those look like cascade to me...cascade can have those rounder leaves and the larger leaves seperate into the 3 point ones you are talking about. Different hops have different characteristics, if you look at something like centennial they have a very distinct seperation in their points early on in the leaf development.

The leaves are still small. As they mature, you will find that they will take on the classic hop leaf shape.

I have a magnum in a container that has a bunch of single and double pointed leaves. I just now checked it and its biggest leaf has four distinct points.
