I'm planning on brewing a sweet tea IPA. I would like it to be a little bit sweeter than a normal IPA to mimic sweet tea a little bit. I don't want it to be sickeningly sweet just a touch so its not like drinking a cup of black tea. I am planning on mashing at a higher temp to kick up the sweetness a bit probably 155-156. Would adding a little bit of lactose be an ok idea or would that mess up the body too much? I don't want it to be a heavy or creamy beer just want a bit of sweetness. So should I mash higher and add lactose or just mash high?

Thanks have a taco. :taco:

What is the sweet tea part of this IPA to you? Is it just a sweeter IPA like hop rising from Squatters? Are you adding black tea? Tea by itself isn't sweet, some can even be quite malty and aromatic.

I'm thinking crystal would give you some residual sweetness but seeing what you're planning as far as a recipe goes would help a lot with giving good suggestions.
