I really like the designs in the software. I do have a question tho....

I made up a couple of labels and tried to print them off on my O-L-D laser jet to see what size they were and what Avery Labels I should buy. Well.. the labels showed up as, I believe, 6 or 8 per sheet. It totally overwhelmed the memory of my printer.

So, I saved them as a .pdf. However, when I went to print that pdf.. it printed one label.. but the label was a full 8.5x11.

If I saved this to a chip and take it to Kinko's.. will they be able to use this seemingly huge file and make it work on the Avery labels? Say 8/page?

Probably. You could take it in and ask them first before they charge you.

My solution to beer labelizer was to use full sized label sheets. As far as resizing them, you can use a word processor like MS Word do the work for you. You have to go into the labels feature which will let you pick out an avery size, then you can add simple texts or graphics to the avery label and print as many as you need.

I'm trying to come up with an easy way to design and print labels. After tedious searching around here and at Avery's label website with no definitive answer...I'm going to just out it out here. It may have already been answered somewhere, but I just can't find it. The thing is, I don't want to cut labels with scissors...they always look amateur and ragged. And my software for design SUCKS, because my computer died and I'm using a cheap one we bought for our daughter. The labelizer is great, but I want a "crack and peel" label that those designs will fit...like 9 per page. Avery's ovals are horizontal instead of vertical. I have used an Avery arched design, but there's no design software set-up for it. Using Microsoft 2007 to design a custom label is a pain! Any economical suggestions? I used to work at FedEx Office and I know they charge $5 per file manipulation, like resizing and making it 9-up on a page...that's $10, then the cost of the labels and color printing. Too much for my little hobby!

Forget the Avery labels - cut them out with scissors and mix up a batch of Elmers white glue and water - about half and half. Spread some on the back of the paper and stick them on the bottles. Comes right back off in a Oxy/PBW soak.

Yeah...I can use a slide cutter for square or rectangular ones, but ovals never look right when cut by hand. I've heard that milk makes a good glue. I guess to be happy with them, I'm going to have to go rectangular.

I'm not sure how to get an oval crisply cut without some sort of die cutter. Maybe a template and a razor knife?

Heard about the milk thing - never have tried it though

I use MS Publisher...might also work with Word. Simple labels but; I like to have a complete ingredients list that the $5 label software on this site does not accommodate.

Email or zip drive your labels to Staples for laser print. Cheap. Cut out and stick on with Elmers "Washable School Glue" or just an ordinary glue stick from WalMart.

Right; don't immerse your bottles in water.

I'm not sure how many labels you are getting from the Avery Labels. We would love to have you come check out our website for a possible solution. Our sheets are professionally print/cut to any shape and reusable so its not just a one shot deal like the Avery's are. We have a place to design labels or we can accept anything you do on the beer labelizer. Just thought we would throw out another option for you if you haven't checked us out at all.
