hey guys im trying to use gimp for a label for my american cream ale im brewing and i dont know what im doing haha so will you please either give me somewhere i can look for a good started picture for a label or for anything that will help me make one. :)

I use a program from paint.net that replaces Microsoft paint with one that has some Photoshop features. Anyway,here's one I did;
http://i563.photobucket.com/albums/ss71/unionrdr/lblpic.jpg
I used the tools window to make slighly rectangular squares,one inside the other. Then painted (filled in) colors between them. I inserted a pic of a cougar,then painted around that. Just zoomed in some 600-800% to paint it. Then go back to normal size,& it looks good.
You can pick text style & size,then grab & move it to where you want it. I left the name.BOD,& Ale fields blank so as to add them later for a particular beer. Hope this helps some.
