Does anyone know of a good pumpkin ale recipe? im looking for one with a storong pumpkin pie flavor instead of just a hint.

I made Yuri's Thunderstruck and really liked it...

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f76/thunderstruck-pumpkin-ale-ag-extract-versions-26699/

I made the following changes:

6.25# of LME instead of DME and added 11.25oz of molasses.

7.25# of fresh roasted pumpkin instead of canned. I just cut it up roasted it in the oven for about an hour and then scrapped the pulp off the skin and added it to the boil.

There is also a AG version depending on what you are looking for.

I hate to threadjack, but has anyone ever seen a recipe for a Pumpkin Wheat? Something in the reddish/darker version of a wheat beer? I've been thinking that it would be perfect Fall/Harvest festival combination, but don't know if it would work.

Brewed this in 2007:

5 Gallons - 1.044 O.G. - IBU's10 - 8 SRM

3.5# (50%) Wheat Malt
2.8# (40%) Munich Malt
.7# (10%) Crystal 40
15oz Can of pumpkin to mash

.2oz Pride of Ringwood 60 minutes
.1 oz Pumpkin Pie Spice 5 minutes

Wyeast German Lager Yeast

I really don't remember how it turned out, it was 3 years ago. I can say it was a conservative attempt. I was brewing several different types of pumpkin beers at the time, attempting to find a good starting point. Now that it's been brought up I'm feeling a pumpkin bock for this year.

I second Yuri's Thunderstruck Pumpkin ale. I have tried a few different recipes and his was easy, straight forward and tasty. I live in Boston and we really like our pumpkin beers here. I usually do all grain but I went with the extract version. I went with the Kitchen Magic Pumpkin Pie spice's. I made mine end of July for October. It ages really well.
