Has anyone tried the beer.simply beer kits from midwest? I'm thinking of ordering a few, and wondering how they are.

I can't say directly to their kits. But they are associated with Northern Brewer, afaik, and the kits look quite similar in my quick look. I haven't done kits in over 5 years but all the ones I did were NB. My opinion is that you cannot get any better. I have heard nothing that NB kits are any different than they were. So assuming that Midwest kits are essentially the same, I would be comfortable in recommending them.

The kits simply make beer. If you want your can modify one of those kits into a more flavorful or more alcoholic beer but they make decent beer just as they are.

I've used NB quite a bit early on. I believe kits are a good way to get you comfortable with your brewery and process without the concern that the reason something went wrong was due to the recipe.

Thanks for all of your help! My plan was to buy a few of these as starters, so I can learn to play around with recipes. I only have 3 brews under my belt so it sounds like this is the way to learn.
