Not to rain on your parade but, I've read a ton of post that once beer is fermented it should not come into contact with copper. If memory serves me...it has to do with the low pH of fermented beer leaching copper. Run a search for beer and copper poisoning. I would not use it.
 
Even if it was copper, it's fine in a JB if the beer is just passing through it at a party or fest. You just wouldn't want the beer sitting in the copper for long periods like it would in your kegerator.
