Has anyone ever converted/considered converting the Kenmore 126 Can Beverage Center into a kegerator?

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_04699100000P

Possible advantages:

-Cool looking. (Blue led lights, glass door, etc.)
-Broad temp setting range. (I think it goes from 34-65F.)
-Cooling fan at the top of the unit would probably keep the lines/tower cool without requiring any additional hacks.
-Cool looking.

This thing would probably hold two corny kegs and a CO2 tank. Dimensions:

-12" deep (+5" compressor hump)
-18" wide
-27" high

It's very tempting, but I've never done a conversion before so I'm seeking advice.

I would agree, in theory. But the cheapy fridges seem too...cheapy, and the commercial units are too expensive. I'm trying to explore some middle ground options.

I seriously looked at it a few months ago. For the price, I didn't like the quality of the fridge. It is cool looking though.

I'm equivocating on that same point as well. It's not commercial grade, but it is quite a bit nicer than your average dorm fridge, so it might be worth a few extra dollars.

I does look very nice, but I got a wirpool minifridge with a stainless door for about half that price at american tv, but if you got the money to spend why not..... with the money you saved by going w/ a cheaper fridge you could buy almost everything you need to have beer on tap. just my.02

Thanks for the tip on American TV. Hadn't looked there yet. Still weighing all the options.

I'd check craigslist, I got a stainless steel french door refrigerator for next to nothing and it holds 5 kegs plus my co2 tank, plus it looks way sweet

Also make shure to check the scratch n dent room. Mine was not damaged at all just returned & I got them to take $30 off
