Good day sirs and sirettes! I'm planning on entering the wonderful world of kegging next month and I'm hoping to get some questions answered. I want to bring some beer to my family reunion in early/mid September and I wanted to know what my options were regarding carbonation and serving.

I don't have a dedicated refrigerator for the kegs yet, but I do have a garage fridge that I could probably use for a couple Weeks. Also, since the event is bring held outside in a park I was wondering what the best wary to keep them cold and serve it would be? Ice bucket, jockey box, both?

Hey there, I was in your position not all that long ago. You are going to need to cool the beer if your are force carbonating. So use that fridge in your garage for that. It won't suck in the c02 very well unless it is cold. As for the family reunion, if you are looking for cheap and easy, just bring a 5 gallon bucket and fill around the keg with ice. Then put a towel over the top. The ice won't last forever so you may have to reload at some point. Just haul your Co2 tank with you and serve with that and a picnic tap. Obviously a jockey box works way better but is expensive. Eventually you'll get creative and build something similar to this, oh trust me it will happen.

That's more or less what I figured, thanks for the reassurance. Nice setups you've got there, by the way!

FYI, you may want rack into keg and after couple of weeks tap to clear sediment then transfer to a new keg this will leave the trub behind otherwise it will get stirred back up and you will be serving cloudy beer IMHO
