Hi,

OK - so I'm new to chatting as well as kegerators..so I need a lot of help.
I've done some research on kegerators and have settled (or so I think) on a Summit product. But I'm not sure if that is the way to go.

I'm looking for something that can hold 20 lb tank to hold the beer gas (same as a scuba tank) which is a 75% nitrogen and 25% carbon dioxide mix. I've been told I need this to run Guiness kegs. Does anyone know if this is true? Also does anyone have recommendations on a good kegerator that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?

I'm assuming that this will only be for commercial kegs and not for homebrew and that Guinness (or comparable stouts) is all you are going to serve.

It also seems like you are going to re-purpose a scuba tank.
I can't help you wioth that part. I have no idea about the regulator or compatability with a beer set up. I have no idea who would fill this for you etc. You should check into that first.

The tank does not have to be stored in the kegereator unless space is a concern. If that is the case (space) a 20# tank cannot be stored in any commercially purchased single keg home kegerator that I know of.

If space is not a concern get on craigslist and find the cheapest (sometimes free) fridge you can get.

Some places will fill a CO2 tank with beer gas blend, others won't check first. Otherwise you will need a N2 Tank and regulator
