Has anyone had problems converting the bulging side kegs into keggles? I am concerned about the taper on the bottom sides of the keg and the seal for a weld-less fitting. Ideally, I would like to use a traditional straight side but this is the only option right now. Thanks.

Unless you have someone that can weld a plug in place, I wouldn't recommend using that type of Keg. Keep an eye on craigslist and something will pop before you know it.

If you are adamant about using it, cut the top, weld a plug in where the bung hole is, and weld in some fittings in the bottom and it will work fine. I've got an 8 gallon keg like that that I'm turning into an MLT for a 5 gal RiMS system
