I looked around and couldnt really find a clear answer to this exact question. I know that conditioning is faster in 70 deg temps as opposed to cold conditioning. So would it be wise to cold crash my brew in the carboy for a couple days, then keg it and leave at 70 degree temps for a few weeks to condition, before finally putting the keg to the fridge to employ the "set and forget" carb method?

OR could i just use a whirfloc tablet early on, and keg condition for a few weeks at 70deg, put in keezer and force carb, and achieve the same clarity?

OR if i cold crash and go straight to keg and force carb, how long would it be before my beer is well conditioned?

im brewing a copper ale and most say its best when conditioned 6 weeks, how does 6 weeks in regular conditioning translate to cold conditioning?

thanks alot
matt

use the whirlfloc 15 minutes from flameout. ferment for however long per style, usually about 2 weeks. age it, in your example, 70 for 6 weeks. cold-conditioning helps make it smoother and clearer after proper aging. aging in a keg is faster than a bottle (about 4 weeks keg for 6 weeks bottle). if you use the carb and forget method, that should take another week. this may not be right, but it works for me
